As a church, our two highest callings are to love God and neighbor. Under normal circumstances, the church gathers regularly. It’s part of who we are as the church. However, with COVID-19 infections on the rise in Hanoi, the government has asked that we not hold large group Sunday Worship Service until after Easter. For the moment, the elders believe the best way we can love God and neighbor is to gather online rather than in person, to help guard against further infections and protect the most vulnerable among us.
We will continue to livestream one HIF Online Worship Service at 10 am each Sunday morning. Watch live on our Facebook page, YouTube channel, or www.hif.vn/online. We encourage all of us, wherever we are, to worship together in smaller groups through this resource – whether home alone or with your family or roommates, in Connect Groups, or with a small group of friends. Please be aware of and respect government, area, or building management rules and regulations that may limit groups meeting, however. As of this week, groups larger than 20 should not meet for any reason.

As we wait for the situation to stabilize so that we may gather in person once again, let us continue to pray for Hanoi, the city’s leaders, our citywide church community, and all the people affected by this virus locally and globally. Let us see this as an opportunity to “be the church” that the world needs and share the hope that Jesus offers to all. After all, we continue to be the church wherever we may be scattered throughout the city and beyond.
