On June 26th, the City Partners team traveled to Lao Cai to support of 55 civilians recently afflicted by tornados and hail storms in the area. City Partners donated 25 million dongs in housing repair aid. Along with 50 bags of clothes, toys, and home supplies, thanks to the overwhelming support from HIF members. While in Lao Cai, Citypartners met with the elders, leaders, and members of the Ải Nam church. Together, both groups worshiped the Lord in English and Hmong. HIF Elder, Michael Walls shared a brief message encouraging the congregation to grow their faith while facing adversities and to stir up their gifts to serve the Lord and others, based on 2 Timothy 1:6. Afterward, the team prayed for a half-paralyzed Hmong child, asking God for his healing. The CP team then visited two families in the area whose homes had been destroyed. They also attempted to help farmers carry rice home from the fields, though this task proved challenging. The following day, the team traveled to Sapa for fellowship and prayer with Hannah, a missionary living in the area. The team was greatly encouraged by Hannah’s testimony of faithfulness and the way God has blessed her life and ministry. We praise the Lord for His care, provision, and protection for His people in Lao Cai and Sapa. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all HIF members for their generous donations to support the families in Lao Cai.
