Hanoi International Fellowship (HIF) received preliminary approval today from the Religious Affairs of Hanoi and other relevant authorities to relocate to a larger facility, signaling a significant step towards their goal of expanding their capacity for worship and community services.
This milestone meeting held at the Lac Hong building included representatives from the Religious Affairs of Hanoi, Bac Tu Liem People’s Committee, District Police, Xuan Tao People’s Committee, Hanoi International Fellowship, and Wise Co.
Hanoi International Fellowship has a rich history, having served the international community in Hanoi since 1995, obeying all governmental regulations and contributing positively to the community. During the meeting, Pastor Jacob Bloemberg expressed gratitude for the support and care received from the authorities, especially during the pandemic. The relocation aims to address the growing congregation and allow for more diversified activities to cater to the different demographics within the church community.
The proposed location, closer to the new Embassy Quarter with a significant foreign presence, offers more space for the Christian community and will feature different rooms for kids, youth, and ethnic fellowship, among others. HIF also expressed the intention to actively contribute to the Bac Tu Liem community as they have done for Nam Tu Liem community.
The representatives of the local authorities expressed their understanding of HIF’s situation and voiced their support. The Bac Tu Liem People’s Committee emphasized the importance of ensuring safety measures, including fire safety, for the potential larger crowd.
The Religious Affairs of Hanoi, while approving the relocation in principle, specified that certain paperwork must be completed and submitted as per the government requirements. This includes the crucial step of obtaining a fire safety certificate for the new location before the approval letter can be released.
This pivotal meeting marked a significant stride towards HIF’s goal to provide a larger space for their congregation and a center for Christian community activities. HIF remains committed to following all rules of the Vietnamese government as they embark on this exciting new chapter in their history.
