This season, ALPHA IS GOING BACK TO TURTLE LAKE!!
We’re excited to be back at Turtle Lake Brewing Company! The journey kicks off with a Launch Event on Tuesday, 30 September, and will run every Tuesday for the next 11 weeks from 18:30 – 21:00.
We’re looking for volunteers to make this season a success—whether it’s hospitality, welcoming guests, registration, set-up/clean-up, or leading and supporting small groups. If you’d like to serve and help create a warm, welcoming space where meaningful conversations can happen, we’d love to have you on the team!
Why Alpha?
Do you ever wonder: Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus, and why did he have to die? How can a good God allow this much suffering in the world? Does prayer have any impact, or am I just talking to myself? Can God heal my pain and suffering? Why would I need Christianity when I already have a religion? Why do I need religion when I’m already a good person? Is the Bible outdated, or is it still relevant today?
Alpha is where you can ask these questions!
WHAT iS ALPHA?
Alpha is a fun, safe, and friendly space where we invite you and anyone struggling with life’s challenging topics to share your viewpoint, learn about the Christian perspective, and ask lots and lots of questions. We will start the evening with dinner, followed by watching a video and small group discussions. Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity.

FAQs
Can i just check it out ONCE to see if I like it?
Of course, that’s fine. Join one of the small groups for week 1, try it once, and then decide whether Alpha is for you.
What if I missed the first week?
It’s not a problem if you missed the first couple of weeks of Alpha. We share the videos online after each session, so you have plenty of opportunities to catch up. Anyone can register up until session 4; after that, we encourage you to sign up for our next Alpha course and come along from session 1.
What Language is used?
Alpha at HIF is conducted in English, but small groups are welcome to use other languages if it better serves their participants. Let us know if your group will be using a language other than English!
Can I help?
If you’d like to be part of Alpha at HIF, you can register to host a small group in your home, café, restaurant, or another venue—or sign up to support an existing group.
