What, exactly, is faith? In our new summer series, let’s journey together as we dive into one chapter of the Bible that is most well-known for faith. Hebrews 11 gives a list of many Old Testament heroes of faith. As we walk through each story one by one, we will be encouraged to grow in our faith and press on toward maturity in Christ. And as we explore in-depth these heroes of faith, we will have a clearer picture of what living faith looks like and what it produces in our lives as disciples.
You may want to check out some of these other resources on faith this summer for small groups or personal study:
Big God: What Happens When We Trust Him by Britt Merrick. Based on Hebrews 11. (Amazon) Faith Path, by Mark Mittleberg. The eight-lesson Faith Path series, based on Mark Mittelberg’s book Choosing Your Faith, builds on the author’s sensible, even-handed approach to evangelism (Access course through Right Now Media). Forensic Faith, by J. Warner Wallace. These short lessons show the importance of “testing” the truths of Christianity, asking why people say they’re Christians, and understanding the difference between experience and evidence when explaining what we base our belief on (Access course through Right Now Media). The new sermon series starts June 21.
